Feeling the Pressure

May 21st is just around the corner and I want to be miles away from it right now! Yet, there's no escaping this date.

May 21st is my university graduation and at this moment, I'm so (to the power of infinity) stressed out - physically, mentally and emotionally.

First of all, the amount of work on my plate is building up. I finish one thing, something else takes the spot on that plate. It just wont end! I have homework and projects left and right and they NEED to be completed...very soon!

I don't have time for much these days. School-work-work-school. That's my five-day-a-week pattern. During the weekends, I get to relax a little, but my mind is always stressing about school. So my poor little brain doesn't get the needed rest!

Second of all, I'm mentally drained. I'm losing my memory as I slowly near graduation. For some odd reason, I can never remember anything these days. Ask me on a Monday what I did on the weekend, and I'll be honest when I mumble, "I don't know."

Shit! I really can't remember much. No wonder I don't retain much of the information I read for class these days. And hey, I've been on top of my readings! I haven't let that slip...just yet!

Thirdly, I'm just so torn emotionally. As much as I complain about school, these years are never going to be relived--EVER! Scary though!

I've been in school since I was 5 and now as a 21 year old, I find myself repeating, "I'm not ready yet." Then faintly, I hear my friend Alyssa's voice: "Yes Rub, you are ready! And you're going to do great."

This is what I'm going to miss. Sitting in class, messing around, bugging my friends and professors. These experiences! It's never going to be the same and that makes me a really, really sad girl. :(

Anyhow, enough ranting. I need to get myself together. I must end this blog positively.

Although I'm completely drained, it's a good-kind-a-drained! I'm going to miss every bit of this drainey (I like inventing new words) lifestyle. In the process I love everyone I have encountered this year (there are a few exceptions).

It's been wonderful. Let's keep it at that!

International Students

Life is crazy when you're an international student! I really feel for them. Every department will tell you something incorrect or just not answer your questions appropriately.

You'll probably run around campus in the California summer heat, have a stroke, maybe a migraine and a couple heart attacks by the time you get the correct answer. And even then, it won't be the answer you had expected because everyone else you spoke to earlier said something different. At this time, alzheimer's might start kicking in.

Wait, I think every student encounters this craziness! Whether you're international, national or local, it is no different. Nonetheless, international students do get the deep-rough end.

Cooking a hot dog...differently

Step 1: Things you will need

Step 2: Getting the Show on the Road

1. Drink up your Pepsi (coke, 7up, or whatever you drink).
2. Wash the can.
3. With your new scissors, tilt your soda can horizontally and cut a decent amount sized square in the middle.
4. Line the inside of your soda can with the aluminum foil you bought.
5. Take 1 or 2 hot dogs and place them inside the can on the aluminum.
6. Place the soda can, with the hot dog, in bright sunlight for a couple hours (keep checking on your hot dog).
7. Once cooked by the sun's heat, throw away the soda can (or reuse it) and eat your hot dogs.


**The above experiment was performed by me and my classmates in 6th grade. It was quite successful and yummy. However, not everyone enjoyed it.

Who you start your life with.

It's amazing. The people who you start your life with, as a child, somehow manage to be in your life forever. You may or may not be best friends with them, but you might be in touch with them, or you might notice how much of an impact they have left in your tiny little world.

As I slowly find more and more friends through facebook, all those I went to elementary, middle, and high school with, I'm realizing how much their presence altered me and just knowing that I'm in touch with them, makes me miss my past life. It makes me realize we'll never be 5 again, but at the same time, I know we'll still be together in the future.

With that, there's a huge sense of comfort. So, a toast to all of you my lovely friends. I'm glad you were present in my past, are with me at this moment, and will be in the future.

At Every Corner of The Earth / World

Wherever you go, whenever you do, you'll find that love blooms at every corner of the earth. You can travel million miles around the world and you'll find love. Whether it's a couple, parent, place, animal, memories, or even a belonging, they all involve love...they all grow and enhance from and with love.
